  1. Yes, the tactic of chat kills has been already tested with some promising results and we still have time to work on that tactic....it's the deadliest tactic ever.

Yepp... Get ready to be chat killed, boys. We are the undisputed world champions.

Now let's see... Girls... Shinigami? Ion? Jojo? Face? Sugar? Breeze? Paris Hilton? Nines? Cel? Jill? Eve? Alexa? Bella? Pati? Catmama? Annika? DVG? E1? Mathy? Gramma? Nanny? (Should anyone see those two, please alert them of the possibility to fight the gender battle for real!) (Sorry if I forgot anyone!)

Should be possible to scramble up 8 members of the fair sex for a Sunday in September, I'd think. I shall nag 'em all to sign up B)

  2. np disco....

for this you have to fight now in the ladies team of course....

and wearing a pink cheerleader outfit... ;)

Hey, who said we'd want him! Can't we have some extra tracking darts in stead? :P

Weeeell... I think the ladies' team can handle one guy IF and ONLY IF he dresses like a woman and puts on make-up and posts a pic of this on the forum. First to post gets the spot! And btw, any Sunday this month is fine with me as of today. Sign me up for anything in September for now!

  3. Well, than go and play other games... Like you fortunately started to do :) . Nobody forces you to play games which contain ********...

I deffo wouldn't ask any ******** to associate with us Nolf2'ing *********s. Please don't let the door hit your backside on the way out!

  4. I might have to take a drive up to the VU offices :P

Since email support doesn't seem to be getting far.

    It really doesn't.

    Hello Mari,

Thank you for replying back. I appreciate your positive and bringing it to our notice about the particular master server issue.

Mari, we Vivendi Games are only the publishers of the game, and the master server is all together created by sierra. So we do not have any rights to make any changes with the sever. So i would appreciate if you contact them and let them know about this particular issue.

    Best Regards,

    John

    Vivendi Games Technical Support

For once the support people make sense... And the sense is saying "We need to talk to Sierra, not Vivendi". But the support links from Sierra's web site a: do not support Nolf and b: actually sends our e-mail to Vivendi support, so they're not much help. Thus I am really unsure of how we can get this message past the gatekeepers. If you can drive up to Vivendi that would be awesome - but maybe you could try giving Sierra a ring first? (For purely financial reasons I deem it better if someone in the US or Canada calls the relevant Sierra branch provided it's in the US... Which I consider a slam dunk.)

  5. hahaha, good one knixy.

Well I told Dear John that they had damn well better support the game if they're not gonna let us take over the master servers. The reply:

    Hi Mari,

Thank you for your reply and i do understand your frustration. If i would have been in your place i would have felt the same.

Let me tell you Mari that the severs are created by a third party entity and we at Vivendi technical support does not have any rights to make changes in the server. Vivendi Games Technical Support is available to help you resolve technical problems with Setup, errors encountered when you start or play the game, display or sound issues. I suggest you is to contact your local ISP because there are people from your nearby area who creates these servers using the same lan.

However, in future if we host and maintain any sever I will forward you views to our games technical team. Our product design changes are frequently based on customer’s feedback. Vivendi is always interested in your ideas. Your feedback has been documented in your cases note which gets reviewed by our Product group.

Vivendi value your feedback and will evaluate your suggestion with other factors for improving our product in the future.

Again, thank you for choosing Vivendi technical support..

    Kind Regards,

    John

*Very unimpressed by this answer* :bounce: I mean, local ISP? Same LAN? Go home John.

  6. Lol!

Well regular drama has an end to it, or is aimed at people and websites I could care less about. This kind has no end and plays actual, cool Nolfers against each other. Plus it actually isn't helping. So while I have no problem at all with drama, let's fuss (get it Disco, get it? :P) about something else, aiight?

  7. Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Vivendi Games Technical Support.

My name is John. I will be assisting you today with the issue you are facing with game No One Lives Forever 2. I understand while Launching this game, you are experiencing slow performance to connect to the server.

I hate to the bearer of bad news that we do not support No One Lives Forever 2. Since this game is a part of Sierra products it all together has a different server for online gaming and wont be able to make any changes in the server. At my best I can suggest you to play with the servers that are listed there.

    Best regards,

    John

I don't think he quite got it. Is this a good occasion to write back and say that as long as they insist on keeping their own Master server, I demand support for that?

  8. But still, if the Bacalov corrector is the main reason to play Nolf1 then I'd say Nolf2 MP has a lot more going for it. Not that that necessarily subtracts much from Nolf1 of course. That's still a very charming game compared to many other run-of-the-mill fps'es! But Nolf2 is still the big bro.

  9. Nolf2 has the graphics, the gameplay, the drama. Nolf1 definitely had cheaters galore, but if you've gotten rid of them then good for you! We're trying to get rid of them too. :D

Btw, Nolf2 has plenty of skins to choose from, but naturally when playing team modes, it's not up to each player (as that would be really confusing). In DM however it's all available.

  10. I would rather point fingers instead. Besides Mari you are online just as much as anyone here :). No need for personal insults, this forum is meant for posting.

By all means, I hope everyone stays here, posts here and has fun. What I'm talking about is the the aggression and bickering that you can see in this very thread... A symptom of a mentality problem as much as a cheating problem. Maybe we do have a couple of cheaters, maybe we have 20. But we also have a plan to deal with it.

Meanwhile these accusations and videos only elevate suspicion and mistrust. Which, again, is the root of problems from accusations towards innocent and friendly players of cheating publicly to the ruptures you see playing out on the last pages of this topic. Only once, in the case of Pixel, have NV's videos been so conclusive that it resulted in a direct ban from the servers. That hardly speaks of the multitude of blatantly cheating punks running around the server every hour of every day some of you talk about. So while I really don't doubt that they're done in the best intention and I have no problem with NV using the wallhack to bust cheaters... With update 1.4 in the works and the obvious damage the cheating saga does to the community feeling, I sincerely ask everyone to stop suspecting, scheming, videotaping, accusing, cheating, hacking, all sides of this. Have fun and be nice to one another and accept that this is a problem which will not and cannot be resolved before 1.4 comes along, anyway.

  11. My god people, don't you know there's a team working on a fix for any and all cheating? So why waste your time? Learn to play the guitar, make a nice dinner, clean the house - surely everyone here can come up with something more useful to do than point fingers and whine like goddamn 8 year olds!?!

Seriously. Just let any cheating idiots do their thang until the day when they no longer can and will automatically suck.

  12. Caip is right. Thoughtless accusations; "guilty if suspicious and until proven innnocent"-thinking; slandering of other people's names; finger pointing - it's not fun, without evidence it's absolutely pointless, it only aggravates people and disrupts the fun. If you're absolutely sure, then follow in Nolf Vigilante's footsteps and amass proof which leaves no doubt. If not sure, please let this stuff go, play and have fun. After all, with 1.4 on the way, what good does it really serve to obsess about this anymore?

  13. Knix' date='Jul 12 2006, 05:13 PM' post='62634']

Moral of the story. Please allow some folks SCMD access to the Unityhq servers :).

Did you hop on MSN to see if any of us were around, though? If you did, splendid and sorry no one was present. If not, we're not mindreaders you know :P . Gotta tell us there's a problem and we'll drop everything. B)

  14. Well like you say Knix, we can't deny people the right to use aliases, but it should be common courtesy to be extra sure not to be a jerk when "hiding who you are" - when the name is the only thing we can recognize, that's what using an alias comes down to.

  15. Oh, the wake up thing just eliminates the "falling asleep" part of a sleeping gas grenade. The victim still has to wake up again, so it doesn't save much time. Just stand near the person tagged and you'll see that yellow text that indicates a possible action (like when reviving someone). Click it and voila. But really, the difference is so small you might not have noticed you did it ;).

As for the rest of this, I don't like cheaters or cheating any more than the next gal, but let's face it... As long as the ability to cheat is there and some unscrupulous individuals have the knowledge necessary, there will be cheating. The only way I can think of that we're gonna settle this once and for all is with a big multifix, countering every known hack and cheat and fixing the worst bugs. So what I'd like to know is if we have anyone who even think they CAN make this?

  16. Oy, yessirree this idea about a mod that includes fixes for the bugs and hacks that we know, plus maybe an update of "message of the day" and other things would be dreamy. Sadly, trustworthy sources have already informed me that this would be a pretty huge job requiring a whole bunch of boring coding and such. It's probably too big a job for one individual, rather a team should do it. But I do think it's a mighty fine idea.
