After a long break, in 2026, I reinstalled Contract JACK on my PC, Windows 10 21H2 x64 system I received an unusual "surprise" : an incorrigible error "Catastrophic failure"(!) when trying to install patch 1.1, if the game is installed on disks E : or disk C : (!) If the game is installed on disk D : then patch 1.1 was installed normally, without error… After 10-12 attempts to install this patch, I admitted defeat and simply reinstalled Windows from backup (2 years ago, after installing Windows, I made a copy of the System (backup) with the Macrium Reflect program)… After that, the game and patch 1.1 were installed on both disk E : and disk D : and disk C : without errors.… NOTE: Previously, in 2023-2025, I installed/deleted many different programs on the Windows 10 21H2 x64 system and possibly changed some system files or Registry.… I think that in this case, the "Catastrophic failure" error is an indicator of the "health" of your Windows System..
