Superbowl XL - Yay Steelers (and Seahawks too)

Recommended Posts

The refs WERE impartial... they just didn't make good calls all the time. Like I've said before, this is part of football. The Steelers have had refs making bad calls against them quite a lot the last few weeks yet still managed to win despite that. Implying that the referees were purposefully making calls to enable the Steelers to win is disrespectful of the job they do.

Do they take an oath to impartiality? Are they sworn in by a justice of the peace and forced to declare nuetrality?

Removing human bias is easier said then done.

heh then you'd have a fair game PERISH the thought :P

Factor how about the penalty on Hassleback after he threw the INT?

Seattle is driving down 14-10, and Hassleback throws an INT, then TACKLES the guy. The ref calls a CHOP BLOCK on Hassleback for A TACKLE! SO instead of having the ball at their own 30yds line they get it at their 45 yard line, and subsequently score on the reverse TD pass from Randal-El to Ward.

Thats a HUGE call. How can a ref call a chop block penalty on a TACKLE?

Its true. I have seen enough calls go both for and against my teams in big games. But for it to be so onesided and consistant throughout a big game, I have never seen before. Again I wanted the Steelers to win, but that was just criminal.

knix...

that "chop block" thingy...

did not matter what so ever...

the pass from randel el to ward...ward still would have scored on, only one guy was even near him...

and all of this is just WHAT IF's...

even if they didnt get the extra 15 yards...

so lets say ward gets stopped 15 yards short...

they still have 4 downs to get into that end-zone, and for sure they get a field goal anywayz...

all in all, seatle was robbed with a few bad calls, but they wouldnt have won...they didnt get into the endzone enough, because jeremy stevens (the trash talker) totally sucked, and blew the game with his 3 or 4 dropped passes that were huge plays...

and like bella already stated...bad refs are part of the game, and the losing team ALWAYS b!tches about bad refing anywayz...it happens in every sport...the team that loses always feels like they got the short end of the stick from the refs...and the steelers have been the one on the short end of that stick PLENTY of times...and they still found a way to win...

either way, the better team won this game. seatle just did a very crappy job of converting on the turnovers...they won the turnover battle (which before this superbowl, the team winning the turnover battle was 29-2 in the superbowl)... seatle should have had that score WAY closer than 11 points winning that turnover battle...but they couldnt, they wernt scoring enough to show me they deserved to win...

even if they got that TD that was called offensive pass interference, they still only put up 17 points all game...

thats a weak super bowl score...
