Eliteone Posted January 22, 2006 Share Posted January 22, 2006 besides turning off extras that might be using your bandwith. make sure there is no spyware trying to report what you are doing (they use your bandwith to do this which affects ping) make sure your nic card is configured properly etc too. Other than that if you are getting a really high ping contact your ISP. you can also run a speed test to see if your actual speed is what your ISP promises you. http://www.cnet.com and http://www.dslreports are two sites that I know of that have bandwith testers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The fastpath makes a lower ping, but I think it exist only in europe(especially in germany)... Because the europeans have the 160-170 ping and other continents have the ping which you can become in europe with fastpath... I know from my internet-offerer(1 und 1)that you can buy fastpath for 25€ starting costs and after that 0,99€ per month...
