blchampion Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but had an issue that I was hoping someone else had encountered and solved. I installed NOLF 2 in Windows 8.1 (x64) and it was working great after disabling hardware sound and setting compatibility settings for Windows 7. When I reached Chapter 8 (the part where you have to break into the H.A.R.M. vault in India), I can move through the basement, bypass the trap, but when I try to open the vault nothing happens. I decode the keypad on the door until the progress indicator disappears but the door doesn't open. Anyone else encounter this issue? Thanks! Quote

Do you have the LivesForever mod installed for the multi-player? If so you need to disable it for that part of the single player. Quote

blchampion Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Tried replaying the Chapter to no avail. Still the same problem. I decode the vault door but it just doesn't swing open. Quote
Eliteone Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Other thing to try is to run NOLF2 in Compatibility mode in Windows 8.1. Quote
blchampion Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 In a desperate move, I shot at the door after decoding and it swung open! Thanks! Quote

jwpanther Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Thanks. I had to shoot the door also. Running as admin in compatibility mode on Windows 10. I also only have the v1.3 patch. Quote
FluxNL Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 (edited) A solution I found was keep disabling and enabling Vsync in the options and the door opens a little more everytime you do it. This was on Windows 10, without compatiabilty mode and LivesForeverPlus mod installed Edited September 29, 2024 by FluxNL Quote
Darkbouda Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 I just ran in the same issue on windows 11. The solution I found was to do quick saves (F6): each time I hit F6 the door open a little more. Quote
CoLdOwN Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) I encountered a problem like this even on an older windows version. I came to the conclusion that you shouldn't let the vault door hit you when it's swinging open, or in other words, leave some distance between you and the keypad when decoding it and back up more after decoding it so you're not standing in its way. Otherwise, wherever it stops and touches you is where it may get stuck. Edited December 2, 2024 by CoLdOwN Quote
