Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum but had an issue that I was hoping someone else had encountered and solved. I installed NOLF 2 in Windows 8.1 (x64) and it was working great after disabling hardware sound and setting compatibility settings for Windows 7. When I reached Chapter 8 (the part where you have to break into the H.A.R.M. vault in India), I can move through the basement, bypass the trap, but when I try to open the vault nothing happens. I decode the keypad on the door until the progress indicator disappears but the door doesn't open. Anyone else encounter this issue?

Thanks!

Do you have the LivesForever mod installed for the multi-player? If so you need to disable it for that part of the single player.

No mods installed. Just the retail version with 1.3 patch.

Tried replaying the Chapter to no avail. Still the same problem. I decode the vault door but it just doesn't swing open.

Other thing to try is to run NOLF2 in Compatibility mode in Windows 8.1.

In a desperate move, I shot at the door after decoding and it swung open!

Thanks!

Well that works too :P

A solution I found was keep disabling and enabling Vsync in the options and the door opens a little more everytime you do it.

This was on Windows 10, without compatiabilty mode and LivesForeverPlus mod installed

I just ran in the same issue on windows 11. The solution I found was to do quick saves (F6): each time I hit F6 the door open a little more.

I encountered a problem like this even on an older windows version. I came to the conclusion that you shouldn't let the vault door hit you when it's swinging open, or in other words, leave some distance between you and the keypad when decoding it and back up more after decoding it so you're not standing in its way. Otherwise, wherever it stops and touches you is where it may get stuck.
