DirectMusic and Nolf 1

While searching for an answer to a different post, I ran across this book excerpt ("DirectX 9 Audio Exposed: Interactive Audio Development") about DirectMusic and some of the process used to make the dynamic music in Nolf 1. Here is the link to the excerpt: DirectMusic and the Production Process.

I realize this is likely to be a niche topic even among Nolf players since it is at the technical level. That said, I'm always interested is seeing how folks worked around the limitations of DirectX 7 to make something so amazing for the times. (It is also good to preserve links to sources various parts of the development of one of our favorite games.)
