I have reached the first gate at the Siberian base but I am not able to figure out how to get past it. All the troops there are dead and I have searched them all. I have an "I" at my compass but I am unable to find what it means. Anybody out there got any answers for me?

OK, maybe it's because you missed something you had to do first. In order, you have to:

1) Destroy the communication building (the big red aerial) then save your pilot: Access to this part is on the right-hand side of the road. You'll see a sign somewhere.

2) Destroy the power generator: To get there you have to jump above the road. Access is also on the right-hand side, just after the small wooden bridge (not far from the base main entrance). BEFORE you get there, jump once more (straight ahead) and you'll find the hunting cabin. That'll give you some extra points and equipment. Now to the power generator: on the way back, it'll be on the right, exactly where you jumped. Pass the frozen lake, walk a bit (you'll have to), and you're in.

3) Now if I remember well, you have to go to the base entrance. You'll be told to go back to the cabin again (grrrrr! smile.gif )and wait for the night. Just follow the instructions and you can finally enter the base (you should now see a blinking "exit" icon if you approach the gate). I think you don't even have to open the gate manually.

4) Now you'll have to pass the most difficult mission in the game, I think. Good luck! Oh, once all your objectives will be complete, on the way back, you'll have to get a snowmobile near the big fuel tank and jump above the gate. The first time I got there it took me 15 minutes to figure out what to do wink.gif

Also, if you have an I on your radar - go to it! That means there's something you have to do there.

Yeah, makes sense now I have read it. I'll combine Gen and Goo's stuff so that you just have what you need to know.

Get on a snowmobile and go to this gate you can't open. Turn round so that the gate is behind you. Start going forward but keep an eye on the left hand side of the road. Very shortly, you'll see a path on the left at about a 90 degree angle to the road. Take this path. You'll hit a hairpin (180 degree) turn to the right. Once you are round this corner - floor it (acclerate)! You'll hit the edge of the cliff and be launched into the air landing on a path on the other side. Now just follow this path along till you come to the Unity hut where you'll be given extra weaponry and information.

Check the map that's in your inventory. It should show the cabin on there.

And don't forget to ignore the 'no snowmobile jumping' sign at the jump. tongue.gif

Btw - there's another jump further in the route to the cabin. Just jump it the same way as the first. Once on the other side, you can continue to the cabin or go down the route you just jumped over which leads to the power station.

I remember getting stuck there for hours and staring at the "No Snowmobile Jumping" sign. It took me a LONG time to figure out to use the snowmobile to jump over the gate. tongue.gif

am I thinking of another game? I thought there was a sewer to the left of the gate you had to go in, and it took you to a grate in the floor of the compound.

Yeah yeah, you're right, Sling, but we're talking about the main gate - not the door. What you're talking about is just a few steps further, once you already got in the base... wink.gif
