criminalcola Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I want to host more than one game type on my computer. Can someone please give me a list of ports that can be used by NOLF2 and Contract J.A.C.K so I can unblock them and host? Thanks for all your help! CriminalCola www.freewebs.com/nolf_world/ All of the NOLF that you will ever need! Quote
Eliteone Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 You mean DM one time and DD another? they use the same port DD is gametype 4 in the server.txt (dedicated) or player.txt DM is gametype 2 TDM gametype 3 etc. You could make multiple cfgs then chose the one to load You can set the port in the same text file also Unless you had a commercial hardware and connection you'd only want to run one server at a time on a home PC. examples from .txt file: GameType = 4 ClientPort = 27888 Port = 27888 Recommended Player Limits =========================================================================== The number of players that your server can realistically handle depends heavily on your connection speed. Use the table below to determine the maximum number of players you should specify in the host options when setting up your server. Connection # of Players -------------------------------------------------------------- 56K | 2 (including host) | 128k Upstream (low-end DSL) | 4 | 256k Upstream (High-end DSL/Cable| 8 | 1500k+ (T1-T3) | 16 | -------------------------------------------------------------- Quote

I have a sever up for every game type for NOLF2 and TDM and DM for CJ and DM for NOLF1. I have a home computer that im running them on and they all have great pings! I have no idea why they are running so good! -CCola Quote
Eliteone Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Servers use very little resources until occupied then the pings go up depending on the ping of the clients connecting etc. Quote
Slngsht Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Good to see you trying things out, CC! You have a bit to learn about how things work, but you've come to the right place to do it. Quote
