Synthesis and Tempering Should Give Proficiency

I believe that the synthesizing and tempering of weapons and armor should give experience points and proficiency in their respective professions.

The addition of Hiram gear, along with the removal of Obsidian gear, has severely decreased the demand for crafted gear. As such, there are far fewer avenues for profit in leveling the associated professions.

Having synthesis and tempering generate proficiency, and in return having the skill level decrease the labor costs and perhaps providing other boosts would go a long way to alleviating the aggravating nature of some of these systems(most notably tempering) and would provide more incentive to level these professions.

Also, it is my belief that ALL labor point expenditure should provide EXP. Currently synthesis and tempering do not.
