FortranDragon
If you're using a laptop you'll need to contact your computer manufacturer and see about getting it sent in for repairs. Assuming you have a desk computer and not a laptop try hooking up the monitor cable to a different computer and see if it works. Cables often go bad first. If your video card has two outputs you could also try connecting the cable to the other output to see if that fixes it. If the cable works on a different computer you'll want to try your monitor on another computer and another monitor on your computer to see if it is a monitor issue. If your monitor works on another computer works then I'd suspect a failed video card. Dust and heat will kill a video card in time if you don't keep your desk computer cleaned out. (I have two cats, it is amazing how much gunk a computer will suck in over the course of a month.) (The above steps assume the screen goes blank and you can't even get to the bios screen. Can you press F8 and get into Windows safe mode with the monitor working?) Edited April 24, 2011 by FortranDragon
ONYX
I had a blank screen too, about 3 weeks ago. Monitor light came on the screen image flashed on, then black! I bought a new monitor in the end (no NOLF for a week! ...terrible).
Curver
After what i see, you write that you get through BIOS and POST? Then your computer begins to load Windows and suddently it gets black? If you dont know what BIOS POST is, read here. Have you tried to start your computer in safe mode? How to get into safe mode
