Recommended Posts

I will explain you what to do to play NOLF2 on-line. Follow the steps and you can play this GREAT game on-line:

Step 1:

Go to LINK outdated and click DOWNLOAD-section (click "I agree") and click 'No one lives forever-topic'

Step 2:

Download "No One Lives Forever 2 1.3 English Patch" and install it on your PC

Step 3:

Download : "NOLF2 Mappack Installer" and install it on your PC

Step 4:

Download 'LivesForever-mod'

Step 5:

Download 'Join by IP Tool'

Step 6:

a. Install the LivesForever mod.

---- a. Create a folder C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\Custom\Mods\LivesForever (Spelling is important so name it exactly like this LivesForever )

---- b. Put the contents of LivesForever RAR file into that folder.

---- c. Yes, you really do have to make that folder.

b. Start NOLF2 like you used to, and select the new mod.

---- a. Instead of the "Play" button, hit "custom," which is right below it.

---- b. Check the box next to the "LivesForever" Mod.

---- c. Start the game.

---- d. Close the game. Now the you have selected the mod, it will stay selected until you restart the game and deliberately unselect it.

3. Start the JoinByIP Tool.

---- A. Choose the tab for DM or DD.

---- B. Double-click the server you want to join (Example the SFI DM server 70.86.157.250:27888 )

I don't know much about Nolf2 mods, but do you think it would be possible to somehow combine the Join by IP file into a mod, so the servers would show up inside the game with a single mod?

Hey there,

Some time ago, i wanted to play Nolf2, but i can't jion the Servers until today.... If i start the game with LivesForver Mod, then i leave it and start JoinbyIP Tool, i select a Server and press Join. I see the Nolf2 site with the message, telling me that the game is conecting to Server! But then it says: "Incorect CD Key!"

What i have to do, that i can join Servers??

I have Vista 32bit HP SP1, if this helps......

Regards!

Hey,

Yes i exactly did, i controlled it 5 times, but it always kick me out of the game...

How many custom maps do you have? Look in the C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\Custom\Resources folder.

If you have alot then I'd suggest pulling them out one at a time to see if one of them are causing the issue.

PC of my kids still have the same problem :(

They also have Vista SP1 and there is only 1 mappack.rez in custom resources-folder.

They can't join via join-by-ip; it says: invalid CD-key

I hope that there will be a solution in the future

I had the Invalid CD Key message and it turned out I had to remove everything in the Resources folder except for the main big mappacks. No individual maps at all. Doesn't make sense to me, but that's how it is.

You installed the LiveForever mod? Also I'd recommend having only the UHQ mappack in the resources folder as that seems to work for some who have had this issue.

My kids have this .rez: mappack_210308.rez

Is that okay E1 or should it be changed?

That is the UHQ mappack so it should be fine. Are there any other maps in the folder?

If you pull out all the mods but the LivesForever mod and then check it in the custom box when you start up NOLF 2 does it then run?

Ok Deleted all other mods. When I look at custom box I still see exp-fix but it aint in my modsfolder anymore

Could there be a problem coz of that?

The LivesForever-mod is checked allready. When I start up NOLF I can see at the screen that the mod is activated.

But when I run join-by-ip it won't work; Error: Invalid CD-key

C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\Custom\Mods you have a LivesForever folder correct?

and inside that folder you have a LivesForever.rez file (it is case sensitive)?

Another way you could "force the mod" would be to add it too your NOLF2 desktop shortcut's properties.

add this -mod LivesForever after the nolf2.exe line in the shortcut.

The rez in the folder is LivesForever.rez ; So that should be ok

This is the desktop shortcut properties: "C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\NOLF2.exe"

Should I make it like this: "C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\NOLF2.exe-mod LivesForever" ?

It can't be changed like this...

Make it like this "C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\NOLF2.exe" -mod LivesForever

That will force the mod to load when you click the shortcut.

That doesnt work either :( It still loads retail when I use join-by-ip

When I start-up NOLF2 itself it does load the LivesForever-mod. It's a weird situation he?
