NanoTech Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Hi everyone. I'm newbie in this forum. This is my story about NOLF series : One day, I bought a magazine about PCs. It had some CDs as a gift. The CD had some free programs, demos etc. I found "Contract Jack Single Player Demo" and installed to the PC. I couldn't play it properly and lowered the difficulty. When crosshair was targeting the bad guys (from HARM you know...) I was fine. After that, I stucked at the wooden place when you need to lean and pass it. Because I didn't recognize the lean control. (I was a child in 2002-2003.) So, one day I learnt the true control and continue to the level. "What is the situation ? We have been attacked by the bunch of Italians." Funny moments, eh ? Then finished the demo and couldn't find the retail box of full version. Again, I was a child those days and I couldn't recall about buying it from outland. So, I found pirated copies of it. (Please don't judge me. I have Steam, Origin, Uplay and GOG account right now. Also have some original retail boxes. I'm not the one who downloads everything from torrent. ) I finished the whole game. I didn't have an internet connection in those old days. One day I went to Internet Cafe and entered the website about CJ. I saw that Jack guy and a woman with a brown hair. My main visiting purpose was CJ. So I wasn't interested about that woman. After years, I found a game. Mob: Enforcer. I saw the screenshots of it. It had the very same "Combat Shotgun". I bought it and finished. Some weapons were same, some sounds were same. It made by same engine. (Lith Tech or Monolith Engine ? ) After some years, I started playing CJ multiplayer. A few people were playing it and generally I couln't find so many people to play it. Also I didn't have to download any patches. Because the master server was active afaik. I remember someone whose nick name is TP555. He/ she had used sniper and always play as a woman character with brown hair. Some people had talking about another game. "Same maps with older game" etc. but again I wasn't interested. Generally, I'm very curious person but interestingly, the another game and that woman didn't arouse any curiosity to me. CJ has some maps and most of the places doesn't comply with the whole game. How I didn't query the whole thing ? I really don't know. And... I left playing the game and deleted it. After years, I played again with my pirate copies. I couldn't find a brand new CD from anywhere. Because the manufacturers are closed / bankrupted. Six months ago, I downloaded the CJ demo from web and played it. Soundtrack is very nice, eh ? And then I searched for them in Youtube. I couldn't find any soundtrack except main menu and "Italy" soundtrack. I wanted to listen the soundtrack from "Trial by Gunfire." After some search, I found full soundtrack of NOLF2. If it has the same sounds with CJ. That is my starting point. Why that game had the very same sounds with CJ ? After some search, then bumm! The puzzle is completed. CJ is only a prequel or something for NOLF series. CJ was made with the same engine. It has same weapons, graphics, musics because of that. That is why CJ also has the same multiplayer maps. But with better gun sounds. The woman who has brown hair is Cate Archer. The woman who stayed in the "Welcome to Czech" level in CJ is also Cate. So I found NOLF2 demo from web. Played and really loved it. Japanese ninjas, Hatori- San, HARM soldiers, crossbow, interesting gadgets, stealth option, character skills, being an agent... Dimitri Volkov is also here, eh ? This is the "real" game! Not CJ. That is why people angry about CJ. "why they released CJ instead of NOLF 3 ? " It is harder to find nice games nowadays. Why they don't develope games like these anymore ? I didn't played NOLF series properly right now. And there is no retail box to me. Because if I buy retail box, I can not support the manufacturers. Because they are bankrupted/ closed. Also, I don't have any CD-DVD device in PC. My last optical driver was malfunctioned 3-4 years ago. I met the original game in 2017 and feel really sorry for it. A bunch of people playing from different countries. Playing isn't comfortable for players because of the time difference. The last websites and communities are falling down. Because of the copyright confusion, we can't find the game in Steam or GOG at least. Anyway, I shared my feelings. Sorry for my English. Quote
