[TNT] Sonic Goo Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Last year's blockbusters consisted mostly of sequels and remakes which were generally both financially and artistically (see the Oscars) quite unsuccesful. So what will they be bringing us this year? (Mostly) sequels and remakes, of course! We've already seen Mission Impossible III, which was decent but not very memorable. And right now the talk of the town is the Da Vinci Code, which is getting slaughtered by the critics, but will probably keep selling based on the massive wave of hype alone. So what else have they got in store? X-Men 3: will the new director keep the franchise alive? At least all the stars are still there... Cars: doesn't sound like much of a premise, but it is Pixar... Superman Returns: I never really cared about Superman, but, hey, why not? Miami Vice: no Don Johnson, no Edward James Olmos, no Jan Hammer (except for the theme), I seriously doubt it'll work Casino Royale: a new Bond? Well, we know the franchise can survive a bad Bond anyway, so I'm not worried. Pirates of the Carribbean 2: almost a no-brainer... And, as the ultimate outsider, there's A Scanner Darkly. Based on the book by Philip K. Dick I happen to have recently read and featuring Keanu Reeves, Woody Harrelson and Winona Ryder, but done as eh, live action animation? Still, it just might work...
