Checking my PC for a game's requirements

A few months ago, when checking if I could run FEAR, I found a fantastic little website which allowed me to pick a game from a list, then run a test which automatically checked my specs and told me if my computer was good enough to run it. Now I can't find it and I miss it so! :(

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where to find it? Any help is appreciated!

I know of this program

use a slightly older program called AIDA32. Although it's been discontinued for the best part of the last 18 months, it's still a very valuable tool. It tells you everything about your computer.

Because the tool's official site is now closed, we're off to Major Geeks, a good store of programs for people who spend too much time in front of their computers. Which includes me, hence why I know about it :)

Download AIDA32 from here:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html. Just click a download link and when asked, save it on your desktop.

A few seconds/minutes/hours later (speed permitting), extract the downloaded file to a new folder on your desktop.

that help?

Oh actually, once I stopped looking for it I found not only the site I liked (Gamespy links called "Can I run it?" are apparently powered by System Requirements Lab) but also a Windows one. How 'bout that!

Microsoft's one:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/g...or/default.mspx

Interestingly, the Microsoft site told me I could not run COD2 while the System Requirements Lab had me well above the minimum requirements. You would think this was not a matter of interpretation?
