  1. Are you trying URA's Multiplayer Launcher? The original multiplayer matching provided by Gamespy has been shutdown so you need to use the Multiplayer Launcher.

As far as the sniper scope goes, the scroll wheel on my mouse cycles through the various zoom levels of the scope.

  2. From what I understand from their method you create a modification to the servers host (Windows or Linux) hosts file (or the Linux equivalent) To tell it to point Gamespy requests to the QTracker server.

We do a similar thing except URA made a server and multi-player launcher so if you don't have access or don't want to mess with the host file etc. The programs URA made do it for you.

As does the NOLF2 and Contract Jack launchers.

They point the games to the UHQ master server we're running for all 3 games.

Nice. I didn't realize that Qtracker was pointing to the UHQ master server. At least having two appswon't fragment the tiny NOLF multiplayer base. :)

  3. You're above the minimum hardware specs: 700MHz G4 CPU, 256MB RAM, and 32MB Video RAM. The only wrinkle I can remember is a problem with the Quicktime versions 6.4 and 6.5. If you don't have patch 1.3 installed you'll want to hunt for that.

  4. I hope you don't discontinue the servers. I encourage folks to donate $5 to $10 (or the non-US equivalent) each month. It's less than the cost of a take-out meal or a single movie ticket. While my time on them each weekend is embarrassing seldom, the fun in a single Saturday's DD session is easily worth the donation time and cost.

  5. The Old Republic is set 300 years after the events of Kotor 2 so the Exile would have died of old age anyway. That said, there are a number of nice call outs to both the single player games in the MMO.

If you want to know what happened to Revan and the Exile you can read Revan, by Drew Karpyshyn (one main folks behind Kotor 1 and Swtor). It bridges the gap between the single player games and the MMO.

  6. Assuming I'm understanding your comment correctly, since the master server has been shutdown you're going to need to dig through the code to create your own master server or change your client to be compatible with the various existing work-arounds.

  7. I don't understand the solution. What profile mission list in what profile folder? Isn't that what we've been doing the whole time?

At the moment, when I host a LAN coop campaign from the in-game menu, the mission menu lists either the normal multiplayer coop missions, or the 'mission' option is greyed out and I can't launch.

I don't understand how the game can still show and load the multiplayer missions when the COOPMISSIONS.txt has been totally changed. Where does it get those missions from? It looks like it just ignores COOPMISSIONS.txt and loads the normal multiplayer mission from somewhere else.

I'm glad this topic is so recent, I hope you can help me out :D

Just on the odd chance this is the issue, are you running Nolf 2 as a user or as an administrator? The game may be looking in a different location for the missions files based on how you are running it.

  8. Yeah, the combat systems feel very Burning Crusade-ish era of WoW. I wish they had gone with more of perk based system that Kotor had. I've gotten to dislike having talent trees and a bazillion abilities, most of which I seldom use. I'd rather see a GuildWars 2 or Secret World set of combat systems.
