  1. No, it's not just funny.

    It's hillarious! :lol2:

I can only imagine what you've felt when you found that one Arch. :D

Took a picture right away. People saw me kinda funny that I actually took a picture out from the menu, but I didn't care. This is classic for us NOLF 2 fans...

  2. Actually Electoral System is more fair than Popular Vote.

US is basically divided to many states and each states has their own laws, etc. If the election is only based on Popular Vote, the candidates will be busy only campaigning to states where they have the most populations, (i.e. California, New York etc). They will only try to satisfy what those states want to hear and ignore the rest of the country. By using Electoral System, each states has somehow equal rights to voice their opinions even though they don't have the same number of populations compare to bigger states.

I feel like the country right now is looking for who can bring changes for the better into the fututre (the same thing the candidates have been yapping about). It's not a matter of a gender or race anymore (as the President). My opinion tho, they can't do any worse than this current administration. :)

    Just my $0.02.

  3. HAH!!! Installed Vista x64 today and now i finally have my 4GB RAM :D

Had Bluescreens when launching vista with more than 2GB at the beginning thou, until KB929777 or smth finally fixed the damn problem (wasnt even part of the windows vista autoupdates, grrrrr) ... atleast it works now and im uber happy :D

I heard about the issue with 4GB or more issue with Vista 64 when installing Vista 64, but I personally don't have any problem. Vista 64 recognizes all 4GB of my RAM. Something about your BIOS for your motherboard as well. Check if you have the latest.

  4. The only I can think of is bad video card (either bad memory on the video card or not enough power to supply the video card), but you stated that other games are OK. I'm just wondering if the other games are 3D intensive applications as well. If it is, then I would probably try to re-install NOLF 2 (remember to backup all mods and save game files).

My next suggestion would be to install the latest Nvidia Driver (latest ForceWare) and see if it helps your situation.

    Good luck.

  5. lol, Metal. Perhaps it was yesterday... thanks for being an unknowning cast member in my film. Now all my suicides in DM make more sense, eh?

It does now ! Great video and Weird Al complements it nicely.

I was laughing my a$$ off watching the video. :24:

    Great Job !

  6. For those of you having this problem under Vista, you simply right click on the Nolf2 exe and choose "run as administrator" and it should solve your problem. You must do this even if you are already logged in as the administrator. It's an added layer of security to help keep your pc safe.

I think if NOLF2 was installed on C:\Program Files, it gives this problem. Vista really beefs up the security for this folder, thus the game needs to be run as administrator. Vista will not let the application change any files or folders under the C:\Program Files tree. I have NOLF 2 installed in different folder and I don't have to run it as administrator.

But I agree, Vista is really giving headache for Sys Ad and border line annoying. No more default System share anymore. And of course the whipping UAC.

  7. Very true, but you might remember that it hasn't always been like this ;) I Remember that when XP was new there was only problems with it according to PC magazines... just the same like it is now with vista "Don't buy XP it's not worth it! ... Million Bugs"

Many Updates made XP what it is now :) ... and the same will happen to vista sooner or later ;)

    Agreed.

I'm actually running all Vista on my home PCs. For casual users tho, XP should be good enough until Vista gets more support in the future. I feel, though, the rate of support for Vista from software/hardware developers have been really slow comparing to XP. Just my $0.02.

  8. muahhha i bought xp online, when i get home im takin the labtop in to have vista removed im not dealing with it no more, $160 and one day without it is well worth the price to end all the stupid hassels vista presents, if this sounds like a bad idea lemme know i have 8 days before i get home----thx-=Sad=-

Make sure you do clean install, and before you do, make sure you have all the drivers for your peripherals handy. I don't blame you that you want to go back to XP. There is really no reason to upgrade to Vista right now besides it's just the latest and greatest. XP is a very stable OS and widely supported.

Good luck with the XP installation.

  9. Sadistic,

I think I know what's going on. Since your NOLF 2 is installed on C:\Program Files, Vista prohibits even the application to add files under that Profile directory. It happens to me with other application that I have installed under C:\Program Files.

Just do a search for player.txt. My guess would be under C:\Users\<your account name>\AppData\Roaming\..., but please do a search for sure.

If all fails, I guess just get yourself an admin access and uninstall and re-install the game into different folder, i.e. C:\Games\NOLF2.

    Hopefully it helps.

  10. Yes this is my question lmao, thank u all so much for helping me out and being patient with me im so computer illiterate. It wouldnt let me uninstall arch, so i reinstalled it and now i think i am lucky it works at all. I'll try to switch the bindings when i find out how to access them lol. ugh-- well Finger 11 tonite!!!

    Hi Sad,

You need to be an administrator in order to uninstall the game. E1 has a better suggestion tho, but either way, you need to be an administrator to access C:\Program Files\ folder.

Vista guards "C:\Program Files\" folder, thus changes are very limited (or restricted).

My other thought would be to give an administrator access to the application itself. If you right click on the Lithtech.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility Tab, under the Previlege Level, tick the Run this program as an administrator. The side effect tho, every time you start the game, the annoying UAC pop up will keep asking you for permission (the most annoying feature from Vista).

I know I think I overcomplicate the matter, but make sure you have an administrator account and follow E1 suggestion.

Let me know if you still have a problem.

  11. I wonder if Sadistic Marine asked this question. :)

Anyway, it happened to me once before when I played around with Vista and NOLF 2 installations. I don't know if this is a Vista issue or a NOLF 2 installation issue. At that time, even I modified the text file under the profile folder, the teamsay still couldn't be assigned to anything. I didn't try to create a new profile at that time.

Since then tho, I've reinstalled Vista + NOLF 2 few more times and never seen the problem anymore.

I suggested to Sadistic (through PM) to reinstall NOLF 2, but maybe simply by removing and adding a new profile fix the issue.

    Hope this helps.

  12. Because you mention about lightning strike, it could be anything. Could be bad IDE port on your motherboard, could be bad DVD/CD-Rom Drive. If you indeed rebuilt the box, please make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard chipsets.

    Hope this helps.

  13. I'm eager to see the newest Die Hard - Live Free or Die Hard. The previews look pretty darn cool. I tried to rent the original Die Hard for my kids to see but the local rental place only had it on VHS, which we don't have anymore. Considering it's been nearly 20 years since the original, I guess some things have changed, but Bruce Willis still looks pretty good. :drool1:

Personally, I really like the 1st Die Hard. But since the other 2 are pretty entertaining as well, I bought Die Hard - The Ultimate Collection a while back.

It has all the goods, i.e. THX Certified sound, DTS Processing, etc. Not bad for less than $25 bucks. (Bought it used).

  14. I'm actually at the point where I have lowered the boat and opened the water gate. The Ninjas tho just standing around on the walkway and didn't come to the boat with Isako.

Is it the bug or did I miss something ?

I replayed the whole section again. But now instead of release the Ninjas, I just went through everything till the end, and then went back to release the Ninjas. It seems to be working this way.
