  1. I prefer doing it the old fashioned way. Just extract all map files and then put the resources together in the corresponding route trees. Then re-rezing the entire thing as one rez file using windows cmd and opening Lithrez.exe. It's direct and pure. Less chance of Windows or anything else effing it up.

  2. I also think it would be more interesting to discuss about the game, rather than play random word games....

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but the comment seems pretty random itself.

I actually think it's more fun to PLAY the game, than to discuss it. Do you play Nightmare? I don't recall seeing you in the servers...

I agree. Let's play! Lets spend more time trying trying to make the game more fun and less talking about NOLF3 what ifs.

  3. Nightmare, this has been a topic that has been discussed and fought for for many years now. There's even a petition that has been started a while back to the game developers signed by several people in the community.

Let me just say that I totally agree with what you said about them needing to make a NOLF3. I don't think there's anyone in the forums who disagrees with you a bit.

However, at this point it's useless to debate about and as you pointed out, the only sure way to get NOLF3 going is if you had a crap load of money. Other than that it's pretty much out of our hands. We will continue to do what we can to get them to make a NOLF3, but ultimately it's up to the developers to make a third sequel.

The big reason why we haven't seen a NOLF3 yet I think is because money. I don't think that they feel another sequel will gain them very much money, not to mention I don't think they feel NOLF2 was a great success in their collection of games.

They seem mainly interested in nitty gritty shooters like FEAR where it's dull, colorless, and ultimately leaves you with a feeling of pointlessness and depression after playing them.

I totally agree that the NOLF series has brought a gaming style unlike any other game out there and as far as I can tell is unmatched.

Not much left to say except that we have no choice but to wait and see unfortunately.

  4. Wow!! This map is really great!!

I'd love to test it with more people than just me :bye:

I can imagine a lot of funny sniper and kitty action [erm.. are there kitties in the map? I can't remember lol] :mml:

2 'bugs' I found while walking around:

    - At this place: 02162008093739qa2.th.jpg there is a small gap: 02162008093347ks2.th.jpg

    - Some posters seem to be a bit too close in the wall:

    02162008093905ry5.th.jpg -> 02162008093909np2.th.jpg -> 02162008093915cr0.th.jpg

(The orange colour is in front of the poster, when you are too far away)

hmm I guess it's not a bug, that you can jump into the lava (and die) at some places? (That's why the map is called Death Mountain, eh?) B)

Ah thanks for your feedback Sasser! Firstly, I noticed the first hole that you mentioned a while back but I didn't think it was extremely noticeable so I left it alone. I may go back and try to close it for the final version.

There are a few holes I noticed myself and have tried to cover them up as best as I could.

Secondly, those pictures you speak of with the red going through them is quite possibly a video card problem of some kind. I don't know what you're running on your system, but on both my comps it doesn't do that.

I also noticed that you are running the game at extremely low detail, so maybe that may have something to do with it. The lava really isn't impressive unless you view it in high detail as well.

EDIT: I just took some screen shots of what the map should look like in high detail in case you are running a system that can't support it.

    yrexpmljxu.jpgrvhfdgrlqh.jpg

    ptdhnqzkhb.jpg

Also, yes I made it so that you can jump into the lava in the bases rather than block the railing off like in Volkov's Lair. I thought it pointless to have lava if you can't commit suicide in it! :D

Also FYI there are about four different hidden ammo/weapon caches in the map. They're easy to get to, but hard to find if you don't know where they're at. I'm not going to reveal any details on their locations yet, but I will tell you that the rewards for finding the secret areas are:

    Infinite ammo tommygun

    Rocket Launcher

    phosphorus ammo

Explosive ammo for the crossbow and shotgun

TY for the feedback, keep it coming guys!

  5. Sorry about that guys, I know I keep you waiting on the new map pack but I assure you all that the small wait will be worth it. Several new maps going to be added to the DD map pack very soon. As soon as I finish my map, I'll have it done. BTW, my BETA form of my map (Death Mountain) should be ready within the next day or two. Just things left as far as textures and stuff go mainly.

  6. Last but not least i think the whole damage you do with weapons in CJ is somehow bad. Takes ages and tons of ammo until you manage to kill someone. Yesterday i needed more than 2 rounds to kill someone or 2 headshots with shotgun. In NOLF2 you can kill with 6-10 bullets from the ak.

Actually that's pretty common in NOLF2 as well...that happens to me every time I join a European server.

What I can't get past about CJ is the crappy weapon change scheme. Unlike NOLF2, when you scroll through the weapons menu you automatically change weapons when the selection hits the weapon it's on. So when you scroll through, you are constantly changing weapons until you get to the one you want. This makes it nearly impossible to switch between the selected gun and the previous weapon with a button.

I never found a way to turn that off either, so I don't think there's a way around that.

  7. Cool stuff Sly! I kept wanting to hit my tab button while watching to see who was playing then I suddenly remembered that it wasn't I who was playing. :D Any who, nice job.

Also, thanks for sparing us the crap music this time. I'd much rather hear Willy Wonka.

I can't help but say that the parts of the video where you were massacring NS players that I kept seeing this image in my head.

(For those who don't understand: Sly=Cartman NS=Scott with tears)

  8. This was actually done a month or so ago, but I had a feeling since it wasn't posted in the right place to begin with that maybe not everyone got to see it, so I'm reposting it now.

    Original Post:

I've been working on it a little, and I've made you some soundtrack songs. Since most of the ambient music in NOLF2 can change in game quickly to a different "mood" so to speak according to bad guy activity, the tracks are composed of small 7 second tracks. Layered together, they form the music you hear in the game. I've done just that for a few and I will continue until I have them all. I blended moods together as I thought they sound best, and I think you will like them. I'm especially proud of the endings on them as well. I have 2 tracks from NOLF2 ready and 1 from CJ (Italy). CJ really only has one new soundtrack in addition from the NOLF2 ones. There's one more that's used in the title screen, and I'll do that too eventually (only made up of two tracks). I had to save them in .wma format too. Please let me know what you think of them!

    Enjoy!

    *EDITED (Complete soundtrack available)

  9. Well, to answer that question and any you might have in advance, here's list of all of the SCMD commands:

    SCMD Commands:

HELP - List all available SCMD commands.

LOGIN <password> - Logs in as SCMD Administrator.

LOGOUT - Logs out as SCMD Administrator.

LISTCLIENTS - Displays list of clients.

LISTMISSIONS - Lits all missions in current campaign.

NEXTMISSION - Go to next mission in mission list.

NEXTROUND - Go to next round for this level.

    SETMISSION <mission_index> - Advances campaign to mission_index.

BOOTNAME <playername> - Boots client by player name.

BOOTID <clientid> - Boots client by client id.

    ADDBAN <IP> - Adds IP to ban list (e.g. 123.456.789.012 or 123.456.*)

REMOVEBAN <banid> - Removes IP from ban list by banid.

LISTBANS - Lists all current banned IP's.

BANCLIENT <clientid> - Bans client by client id.

    LISTGAMEOPTIONS - Lists game options.

SETGAMEOPTION <optionid> <value> - Sets game option by optionid.

Example of what you would type: scmd login (password)

scmd addban (player's IP address) OR scmd banclient (player name)

It's more effective to ban their IP address than their name obviously. Type in: scmd listclients to find the IP address of everyone in the server.

    Hope that helped.

  11. First of all, to correct you they are called "Dedicated Servers," and yes there is a way to do so.

If you host what's called a "Pure Server" which you host and play at the same time, then you won't be able to do certain commands. You can still used SCMD commands which allow you to ban/kick players/change levels/change server options, but your options are slightly more limited. Also, hosting a pure server is said to cause extra lag than you would have hosting dedicated.

I recommend that you host a dedicated server which will close the game and give you a console (you can made modifications there if you know the commands) and then reopen the game while your dedicated server is running and join your hosted server through the LAN (Local Area Network) Obviously the server will be running on your comp in the background while you play the game on top of it, but if you join it through "Multi player (LAN)" (make sure the port number is the same) and click refresh your server should pop up in the list.

If you do this you will still get lag probably but hopefully it will be less than if you host a pure server.

  12. 27888 (by default) unless you've changed those numbers. (will appear on your Server IP Address) You can change this number to anything you want by going into host options. However, it's 27888 by default and if you're trying to open ports on your router, then it probably wants a range which would be 27888 to 27888. That should work. Make sure you're not running any software firewalls either because they will block players from joining as well. Good luck! :thumb:

  13. Wow. Apparently no one here knows anything about politicians. I'm sorry, but if you're a politician trying to be president, there's already something wrong with you. I don't know why that's so hard for you guys to see. Just about every president I can think of has done something to "manipulate" their way into office.

Firstly, let's look at the fact that no one but the rich people in this country can ever hope to be president in this country because you can't run a campaign on food stamps. It's a corrupted game from the beginning. If you don't see that, then the joke is on you.

Stand by Bill Clinton after the Lewinsky affair and you're a door mat, leave him and you're a heartless, unforgiving witch.

That's all a game too. By staying with him and putting up with his crap she gains benefits from him that will help her become president. It's all about the game and if you can play it. The minute you think these people we're electing into office need to be perfect in every way morally, is the minute you get a poor president. I want a president who can run the da#% country, not one that I like because they know how to make public speeches and believes in this religion, and combs their hair to the right or wth ever.
