i have an original NOLF 1 with all the patches running on an old 32 bit machine.  I want to move it to my Windows 10 machine, i have not been able to get working (with the regedit approach).    I think, based on what i have read here, i will just download the GOTY version.  Does that sound right?  will i still need to have the disc1 in the drive to play the game?    Thanks for your help!

For me, I just got the GOTY version and it worked for me. However, there is a website made by the fans for the fans to try and revive the old NOLF games, even Contract Jack. The installers come with the updated patches, a NO CD crack, and widescreen support. I'll drop the link here: http://nolfrevival.tk/. Also, click the Mega Mirror links and then click the full download link because otherwise you download the game into different parts. After that it's as basic as choosing a directory.

  2. I just got this game as a gift and I've been trying to get it to work and I just got past the issue of patching it to work on a 64x bit machine. Now, I just found out about SafeDisc and how it has screwed all older physical PC Games. I found out about the issue from the error the game gave me saying "Access Denied: Please login with administrator privileges and try again". I was looking at a thread on this site and still couldn't find a solution. Most referenced a mod for NOLF called no CD or something but the only one I could find kept throwing me errors too. I'm really looking forward to playing this game so please respond ASAP. Thank you for your time. This was the thread I was looking at:

EDIT:  I just saw that the user Eliteone posted a mod called no CD NOLF; however, it says "Sorry, you aren't permitted to download this file". What does that mean? Why can't I download it? Also, I didn't get the Game of the Year Edition, should I return my original copy and get the GOTY edition? Would that fix my issue?
