Nice thing about ISO is that you can just unpack them with winrar, no need to mount.

Unlike Nolf1 and Nolf2 that store the master server info in CSHELL.DLL, Contract Jack uses a file called Gamespy.dll to store master server info. This means that you can alter this file without changing the actual game version. (no mod needed).
A simple string edit changed the file from looking for Gamespy to instead contact Qtracker and will let you connect to servers without having to use the Qtracker software or windows hosts forwarding.
Here's a patched gamespy.dll that goes in the Contract Jack base directory. I'd call it beta for now.
Remember to back up the original gamespy.dll, backups are always a good idea
Progress so far:
- Patched out gamespy urls with qtracker ones.
- Works well for the joining players.
- You can use mods like normal
- Game stays at the retail v1.1 if no other mod is loaded.
Bug: I had issues maintaining server heartbeat when hosting sometimes, Works like a charm when a player is online but if server is left alone empty for a period of time it sometimes disapear from the ingame query. the Qtracker uplink tool should take care of that though, this could have something to do with how qtracker register heartbeats as as well. Not sure.

Any luck? You could also try to activate the ingame intel graphics fix in modernizer.. Intel chips have the black screen under water problem as well.

Sorry for the late reply, I was able to run all versions of nolf no matter what display adaper I chose. My computer is older than yours though. This could be something worth mentioning to Hey Jake if you can't get it to work.

AMD graphic cards and Nolf can be interesting due to lack of directx9 support in some drivers. From what I understand, this was fixed for some chipsets with driver updates.
Not sure about the current state of the VEGA chip (which you most likely have)
Some people also made it work with DGVoodoo, but modernizer also fix bugs when it comes to disapearing AI and various other stuff such as multiplayer. So I suggest trying a combination of the 2, if modernizer doesn't fix this alone.
Make sure you also have Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 installed if modernizer is acting up.
We haven't seen the last modernizer update yet though, it is still being developed

Have you tried running Modernizer 1.006? There is a fix for scope and widescreen support there. (not camera yet)
You most likely don't have to run dgvoodoo solution. This fixes some things but mess up other things such as shadows.
There is a built-in 'intel graphics' fix in the update.

You could try to run the game with the DGvoodoo configuration.
As far as I know it doesn't run perfectly but hopefully better.. Worth a try I Guess

From what I could find, it seems like AMD's display driver have issues with DirectX9 and probably older versions as well. They describe the same issue here.

This version contains the standard 1.004 lithtech. Exe. Try deleting WidescreenGOTY. Rez from the base game folder. That's the only modified part in the nolf revival version compared to a fresh install as far as I know. Atleast it works online then

No, I don't.
The Nolfrevival version works just fine the way it is in single player mode.
But it has a built in widescreen mod that you'll have to deactivate in order to play online that's all.
That's why I mentioned the removal/moving of the "WidescreenGOTY.rez" file from the nolf basefolder. The widescreen patch is a mod that have a altered set of dll files in it, and servers wouldn't let you in unless the servers run the same mod (which they usually don't).
The Nolf revival is a clean version 1.004 GOTY except from that file.

Another issue about that version is the way that they included the widescreen patch, this will prevent you from playing online. To fix this simply remove WidescreenGOTY.REZ from the game directory and redirect the serverquery to qtracker like this:

Hello there,
First of all I'd like to point out that I don't use windows 10 myself, but many of the issues seems to boil down to compatibility, missing admin rights for the executables or missing codecs.
Not sure which patch you tried to install though. the official 1.3?
However you already got the game running so I suspect that you would need to install WMFADist.exe for the missing audio codec. Not sure if that file followed nolf2 installation or not. But I know it does for Contract Jack. (same engine)
also try to disable hardware sound in the launcher options,
Another known issue with the nolf series when it comes to sound is the framerate. you wanna keep that below 60fps, but that usually cuts of sound, sound wouldn't be gone completely then.

Not really sure what that installer contains, but It sounds like you're missing the registry entry. The file is most likely included in the game folder as a .reg or a .bat file. You may need to edit paths in it by right clicking and select edit before double clicking though. Depends on where you installed NOLF2. Nolf2 will not show the play button without it.

Modernizer 1.006 patch 3.1 German and Italian

If you load modernizer with the GOTY translations (cres.dll), stuff like INTERFACE, JUKEBOX and other menu items won't show up ingame. This is due to new language strings that were added with modernizer. And without a assigned translation, these menu items have no text to display and will therefore be invisible.
These files are the Modernizer 1.006 patch 3.1 release from Hey Jake with updated cres.dll files to support Italian and German languages. I made a database that contains all translations I knew of, and were able to generate new Resource files for compiling new CRES.DLL files.
The new lines and some of the old translations that were missing were translated by Gassosa (Italian) and Icepick (German)

Both files were packed with Winrar
You will need a program that can extract winrar archieves to unpack the files. The only difference between these files and the original modernizer is the new CRES.DLL, otherwise its a full version of modernizer. And you can join the 1.006 multiplayer servers with this mod loaded.
