  1. You install the tools, then when it asks you if you wanna upack the game. A folder named NOLF will be created in your game directory and the whole game will unpack itself there.  These files are normally packed into rez files (pretty much like a zip file.. only without compression at all)

    You also get a folder called Tools that contains the program "Dedit" wihich is used for level building.  (and other software for models, packing levels etc)

    Tutorial here

    What kind of mod do you thinki about? Singleplayer levels?

    * Windows 10 may screw up the unpacking of the game though and even the installation itself. If that happens, copy the tools folder into your nolf folder and unpack by running the unrez.bat

  2. It could very well be that you need to create a folder named custom in the nolf2 base folder.

    Also, inside this folder there should be 2 additional folders named "Mods" and "Resources"

    - Anything that modifies the already existing contents of the game should go in MODS

    So the correct structure would be "NOLF2 GAME FOLDER\Custom\Mods\Modname\Modname.rez"

    - A extra resource for the game, such as a map pack would go into RESOURCES

    The correct structure here is a little different and would be "NOLF2 GAME FOLDER\Custom\Resources\Mappack.rez"

    Hope this will help you sort this out :)

  3. The installer will check your Nolf2 registry key for installation path, if you used a preinstalled version of nolf and just added the key manually.. that might be the cause why it wants to install to D:\

    The tools needs a few gigabytes of space in order to unpack the whole game into a folder called "Game" , not sure how much. mine is around 7gb, but I have a lot of ekstra stuff in that folder.

    I'd check the registry key first of all,

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Monolith Productions\No One Lives Forever 2\1.0

    "Installdir" is the key you might want to take a closer look at

    Seems like your computer might have a low profile PCIe slot, so  the selection of available cards is more limited.

    You might not want a power hungy graphic card since PSU is only 250w or 265w, so the model Eliteone mentioned is a good option since they are often low profile, consumes little power and are less expensive.

    Geforce cards usually runs nolf without issues.

    This isn't a awesome graphic card in any way and will not run new games all that well, but still a lot better than the intel chip. The low profile grahic cards seems to be available as GT 1030, GTX 1050 and GTX 1650 If you plan on running newer games, but they cost more ofcourse and we're talking about 70-90w extra power drain from the PSU with the GTX 1650 while GT 1030/GT 730 draws around 30-40w. So be careful with that.

    Even the GT 1030 recommends a 300w PSU..

  5. Updated the german version to also have IDS_ALLOW_NO_GORE set to FALSE now :)

    The Italian one was set to FALSE already, the other values were correct from the beginning.

    Still can't find any Blood/milk translation. 30 entries mentions blood and they are all correctly translated.

    Maybe this is in nolf2/CJ? Haven't looked at those translations.

    In the German version, milk instead of blood ... lol ...I saw the same bug in the Polish version ...
    Someone is afraid that the Germans and Poles will start the 3rd world war?
      :)
    It is necessary to fix these lines in CRES.dll
    .............................
    750, "89"
    751, "78"
    752, "FALSE"
    ...........................

    + not everyone has WinRAR ver. 5

    I checked:

    IDS_YES_VK_CODE            "89"          (id 750)
    IDS_NO_VK_CODE              "78"          (id 751)
    IDS_ALLOW_NO_GORE     "FALSE"  (id 752)

    Everything was set to this except ALLOW_NO_GORE was TRUE in the german version.  (Changed this to false)

    Couldn't find any translation where it said milk instead of blood either. Which ID is this?

  7. All versions will actually run in windows 10 when updated to 1.004, but the versions below (and updates up to 1.003) came with a 16 bit installers which won't run in newer versions of windows.

    However when the game is installed and patched up to 1.004, it should work.

    The 64 bit regkey is different though. So just adding the 32 bit regkey won't work. You need to add Wow6432Node\ in the regkey path on windows 7 or newer. Just edit the regkey before installing it.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Monolith Productions\No One Lives Forever\1.0\

    The WorkingDirectory path needs to be correct as well, default would be "C:\Program Files\Fox\No one Lives Forever\"  I believe. Change it to where your nolf install is located.

    Here's my working windows 10 nolf.reg file for reference:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Monolith Productions\No One Lives Forever\1.0]
    "GameOfTheYear"=dword:00000001
    "WorkingDirectory"="D:\\NOLF"
    "Update Command Line"="-rez Nolfu003.rez -rez Nolfcres003.rez -rez NolfGoty.rez"
    "Version"="1.004"
