SYMPTOMS
When you start or play any one of the games that is listed in the "Applies to" section, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms: • The game stops responding.
• The game quits unexpectedly.
• The computer restarts unexpectedly.
• The game minimizes to the Microsoft Windows Taskbar and cannot be restored.
Additionally, you may receive the following error message after you receive the Gathering Exception Data dialog box:
<Game Name>has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Method 1: Restart your computer by using a clean boot procedure
When you start Microsoft Windows, typically there are a number of programs that start automatically and run in the background that may interfere with the game. These programs may include antivirus and system utility programs. When you perform a clean boot, you prevent these programs from starting automatically. You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.
To restart your computer by using a clean boot procedure, follow these steps when you are using Windows XP.
Note You may experience a temporary loss of some services functionality when you follow these steps. Restoring the settings restores the functionality, but may result in the return of the original error message or behavior. 1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
3. Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check boxes: • Process SYSTEM.INI File
• Process WIN.INI File
• Load Startup Items
4. On the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
5. Click OK, and then click Restart.
Method 2: Create a new user account in Windows XP
Windows XP Home
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
2. In the Pick a task list box, click Create a new account.
3. Type the name that you want to use for the account, and then click Next.
4. Select the account type that you want, and then click Create Account.
Note Some games require a user account with administrator account type to run.
Windows XP Professional Edition
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts.
2. On the Users tab, click Add.
3. Type a name for your user account, your full name, and a description for your account.
4. If your computer is set up as part of a client/server network, type the domain name, and then click Next.
Note If your computer is set up as an individual computer (without a network) or in a peer-to-peer network, you do not have to provide a domain name.
5. Type a user password, and then type the user password again to confirm it.
Important Passwords are case–sensitive. For example, “MyPassword” and “mypassword” are treated as two different passwords.
6. Click Next.
7. Select the level of access for your user account, and then click Finish.
Note Some games require a user account with Administrator level access to run.

Service pack 2 for Windows XP
I have my doubts to that. I'd go with a setting issue (examples firewall anti-virus etc)
Service pack 2 was an accumilation of various patches and fixes to the OS. However being that Nolf 2 runs on Windows 98, 2000 and XP the actual OS isn't as critical say as the examples I mentioned above. Another possibility is if the Server is changing the map when you are connecting it can cause you to "time out" and generate a desktop crash. As it is the Lithtech.exe generating the error you can recopy it over from the CD in case it's become corrupted.
-
Also check some of the things running there in your system tray. First rule of troubleshooting is to turn off all the extras and try to reproduce the error.
-
I just download that mappack this past weekend,
do i have to dl it again!?!?!?

It's in the mappack
If you have the mappack you have the map

-
It's in the UnityHQ Mappack
-
I think this is a really good mod FYI (have tested a dedicated server setup of it).
Just want to make sure all will be ok to run it etc is all.
-
no, not to diss nolf...
but F.E.A.R. mapping is MUCH better..
and i mean, when your map is done in F.E.A.R. mapping you appreiciate it WAY more, because it just looks sooooo dang nice...
the graphics and textures are just soooo much nicer!
but nolf is still the best game ever made

Good save Factor thought we were going to have to

on you -
Well obviously I don't play CJ so I don't expect my opinion to carry much weight for the CJ community; however in general I hope Fatweiner will clear this up once and for all if it's just a misunderstanding. We all make mistakes, the trick is to mutually apologize and let go afterwards.
I get the impression that this Pegasus mod is a cool thing for Contract Jack, so let's see some kissing and making up!
As for the whole copyright issue, no European court would acknowledge an attached readme.txt document as a copyright agreement, Sonic. As KNIX said, it only counts when people want to respect it for some reason - be it basic respect for intellectual property, for the creator, or to stay within the ground rules of netiquette. Someone more opportunistic might go right ahead and run the mod, but UnityHQ and its leaders are about walking on the right side of the road. Thumbs up! That said, let's fix this and get this mod running!
Nicely put

Same could be said for the other files that could benefit many but due to a few they are unable too. Just remember the needs of the many should matter more than the needs of the one.
-
*bump*
It's all up to Fatweiner now. Publicly post what he told Spawn and UnityHQ will run the pegasus mod for a CJ Server.
-
So people all signed this yet??

-
Then make nolf 2 maps

-
If you guys are having bad pings with your current providers............ I know if I were in your predicament I'd be shopping around for a new ISP. You pay them every month to provide a reasonable service and you should get what you pay for.
Caip the SFI practice and DM servers are hosting on a different "box" than our DD server (ironically farther away fro you)
The NS server is not on the same machine or host than the SFI DD server.
Plus I have a few config tricks that I've used over the last couple years

SkiZZor' date='Nov 27 2005, 06:06 PM' post='18577']
This program is for mappers who want to use Nolf2 objects to map in the FEAR editor. Since FEAR didn't come with any prefab objects, I made this program to transfer and convert all of the Nolf2 prefabs to the FEAR format so that they can be used in W-edit.
This program can make transferring maps made in Nolf2 to FEAR much easier and faster than doing each file by hand.
Basically it means nothing to anyone except mappers that have Nolf2 w/ tools and FEAR w/ tools.
Now why would you do that? Simply play Nolf 2

-
Sooo...I called my ISP today asking them wth is up. They checked my line and said that everything was running smoothly. Thus I doubt it's my line who messes it up.
The good news is that my ping on the DM servers is quite normal and my ping on sfi dd server is stable at 190 now I think (hope). E1, did you change something on the servers maybe? Like new server location or shix?
And if not...what shall I do? :S
Nope everything is the same on the servers.
-
-
-
I just tried it Natter and it works just fine for me.
-
Hmmm he's a no show. Now why am I not suprised....

-
New Version is uploaded to the unityhq.net downloads and the server has been updated too.

Were you intending to have everyone who updates to rename the file to Amod?
Hope so cause configing is easier on the serverside that way.
-
We'd be glad to help out so feel free to send the file and we can update the test server too.
-
To put one thing strait..
As far as I know, fatweiner has never told anyone that his maps couldn't be played on a Uhq/SFI server. He also confims that!
Than have him come here and public post that please.
-
Place it in your C:\Program Files\Fox\No One Lives Forever 2\Custom\Resources
silly
and come play in the custom map server. -
Well if they are breaking the server rules they will most certainly be booted
