    My replies are in bold below your questions.

     

     

    1) When anyone plays on my Nolf server, there is a bug that occurs when somebody stepped on some parts of most of the maps. Then, they can´t respawn without rejoining in

    my server. They are "killing themselves" continually as they attempt to respawn, and they are falling very slowly. I have reinstalled Nolf, and then Windows XP, and I still

    get the error behind me. Why must this always happen? Do you know any way to fix it?

    Which maps specifically?

     

    2) I use two computers: mine and of my father. In my computer Nolf 2 works me perfectly using the 3D Analyze program version 1.5, but using my father's computer I can´t.

    Both are exactly alike, are the same model, so I can´t understand why it does not work in my father's house. Programs and files are the same and also Internet connection,

    which is wireless. I can not play online or single player mode. The game closes when I try to start a game without giving any error. Where could be the problem?

    I'm not familar with the 3d Analyze program. I run my NOLF2 on Win 7 64 bit with the visual themes for windows disable in the compatibility mode

     

    3) I played Nolf on the Internet and my ping is about 400, in Nolf 2 online was 3000 or 4000, and in Contract JACK my ping is not updated and the performance was pitiful.

    Does this mean that Nolf is the fastest online game of this saga and Contract JACK is the slowest, or is it a problem myself?

    Ping is relative to your distance to the server you are connecting to online. The speed of your connection and the connection speed of the server

     

    4) When trying to open a server in Contract JACK, the program closes, and Windows XP gives me an error. Why does this happen? Do you know any solution? Anyway,

    because my performance in this game is so low, no big deal for me this last error.

    What information is displayed in the error message specifically?

     

    No worries on the ESL (English as a second language). There are quite a few of us here the same way.

    So when giving your NOLF CDs a chance to cool off what other games are you all playing?

     

    I've been playing Aion recently as time permits.

     

    If you're playing Aion you can add me to your friends list in game (Saryaelite, Ayaelite and Soryaelite are my Aion characters)

     

    I also have and play sometimes: Left4Dead 1 and 2, Team Fortress2, Call of Duty4 (pretty much have the games we used to play at SFI)

    I run Win7 64bit too and completely uninstalled after the first time installing (including cleaning the registry) then reinstalled.

     

    I did this: Disabled visual themes & desktop composition

    and haven't had really any problems since. Occasionally I have to start it a couple of times to get into the server but I've had that issue since I've had the game back on Windows 2000 Pro (lol)

    I wanna play co-op with single player maps but I cant seem to install NOLF tools 2 cuz its on my D drive it doesn't pick up the game and doesnt think I've installed it any help?

     

    Or is there a another mod or something because I can't seem to find a working link to LivesForverPlus by URA and his site is down

     

    Hi welcome to the forum.

     

    The Livesforever mod we use on the UnityHQ NOLF2 server can be found in the downloads section here on the UnityHQ website/forum (link is at the top of the forum here)

     

    It should work for you to run a CO-OP server to play on.

    I want a closer server, but there are a few "little" (if i ca say so) probs:

    1) i have money but can't pay.

    2) i can't pay cz i just dont have something to pay by XD (i think there's no way to "fill" paypal account in my town :S)

    3) no hosts in russia (at least in 7 big cities we always request) who'd host NOLF 2. I asked.

     

    well, not russia is really needed, but would be certainly better :P

     

    btw, I can actually try a 24/7 host. if otheers agree to send $1-2 (or less) every month to cover the internet and electricity payoffs. I work on laptop now, it's much easier to keep it on 24/7 than a stationar computer. what others think about it? *waiting for opinions*

     

     

    Good idea! I already asked my provider about hosting a 24/7 gameserver, and they said, that this is no problem! So I just have to buy the hardware and we can host an Nolf2 server, located in Europe, Austria, in my city! :P

     

    Guys,

    Only drawback of hosting on a home based internet connection VS commercial is the upload and download speeds.

    Gameservers need it to be balanced (fast and the same between upload and download speeds)

     

    When I stopped hosting gameservers on the data centre dedicated server I leased and went with a commercial host I settled on New York for the location of the NOLF2 server as a "compromise" (For North America and Europe players it seemed to be a central location)

    Now the commercial provider presently being used has European locations (London, The netherlands etc) and we can certainly look into those options however it would require more to contribute than do presently.

    I've been proud to have hosted NOLF2 servers since the game came out pretty much. I donate my time and $$ to the cause regularly even though my time for playing the game has become quite limited. I appreciate your desire to want to contribute in your own way but I'm sure you want the gaming experience to be enjoyable for everyone and a home connection just can't do that (It's not designed too)

     

    So how to proceed?

     

    We could move the existing server to another location (cost for it would go up) or if there was enough community demand/funding get a second server (could even run one as a DM server)

    Or we could enjoy what we have making more of an effort to make it enjoyable for everyone.

    No, it wouldn't be abandonware (which isn't a legal term). Assuming that the GPL release is true, this isn't any different from id releasing the Quake game *engines* as GPL. They still control the copyrighted Quake *games* (art assets, music, etc.). It would be good to have independent verification of the GPL release. Is there a link to a press release from the owners or other confirmation?

     

    I haven't found anything yet (independant) I'll post it if I do.

    Good Morning,

     

    i buy a Contract Jack - CD @ Ebay,

    a sticker on the front of the envelope says "including the full version of no one lives forever 2".

     

    But in the box are only 2 CD's - with contract jack.

    I can't find a NOLF2 - Installation directory or something...

     

    I think there must be 4 CD's , 2 for Contract Jack and 2 for NOLF2.

     

    Can you help me?
