Ddraw.dll errors when trying to launch a game

Recommended Posts

Problem:

When trying to start a game you get errors referencing to "ddraw.dll".

General Protection Fault or Invalid Page Fault in module DDraw.dll

Solution:

The error could be due the fact that either latest DirectX is not installed on your computer and also if the video card drivers are not up-to-date or DirectX compatible.

The game you're trying to play is using DirectX and it's importanat to make sure that you have the latest DirectX installed (latest is 9.1C as of Jan 06).

You can install Directx from the game disc you have or you can download the latest version from: http://www.microsoft.com/directx

* Click on Properties from the menu that appears.

* Write down the type and model of your card.
